Hunting and gathering has always been a significant part of life in Finland and especially in North Karelia. For a century’s, traditional frontier skills have passed through generations and created a strong heritage from living of the land. Now you have a rear opportunity to take a part on a journey to this way of life as our guides take you to their home, the easternmost frontier of Europe.

During the journey you will be introduced to traditional and modern frontier skills, you will learn the most important rules of living from the land and you have an opportunity to have a deeper connection to nature around you. Guides will lead you to their own history through stories, workshops and traditional frontier food that is prepared in open fire. In evening time we will enjoy the warmth of an campfire and herbal tea before going to bed.
