Karelian Art-Residency Network and Art Tourism
The project is aimed at creation of new cross-sectoral initiatives, which will be developed through synthesis of contemporary culture and tourism and Karelian art-residency network. Within the framework of this initiative new contemporary culture space will appear in the cross-border region with cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary practice.
Project target groups are professional artists, both local and visiting (artists-in-residence), culture professionals, tourist professionals and local residents.
In North Karelia there are total of four art residencies: Kolin Ryynänen Residence for Artists in Lieksa, Hakoniemi Creative Space in Rääkkylä, Old Mine Residency in Outokumpu and Kovero's Author Residency in Tuupovaara, Joensuu, and in Russian Karelia there are three art residencies.
