Description
On the illuminated track in Rääkkylä village center, you can ski both classic and skating styles. The illuminated track runs on a running track as well as through park-like scenery near the school and sports field. The Karelian Trails' Savilahti Trail runs through the forest and is only skiable in classic style. The tracks are easy and suitable for fitness skiers of all ages. The track partly runs on a nature trail with information boards along the way. There is a shelter and toilet along the illuminated track for hiking. The track can be accessed from the ice hockey rink parking lot. There is also an orienteering permanent control map available in the area, which can be found on the Keski-Karjalan Rasti website.
When ice and snow conditions allow, you can continue from the track to the Jänissaari ice track. There is a shelter and toilet suitable for hiking on Jänissaari. The round trip from the village center to the shelter and back is about 10 km, and if you circle Jänissaari, the total length is about 15 km. Directions to the ice track.
