The best parts of the Harjupolut trail network

Located near Joensuu in the scenery of Utra ridges, Harjupolut consists of four shorter mountain biking trails. This route tip takes you around the best parts of Harjupolut. The route is also suitable for less experienced mountain bikers. There are a few steeper climbs and descents along the way, which can easily be walked.

The journey includes enjoyable needle trails, fast paths, and sandy edge trails of gravel pits. Along the route is also the Utra technical track, which is a pump track built in the terrain.

Jaama Trail connects Harjupolut to the Joensuu region trail network, which has over 200 km of paths: to Lykynlampi's Lykyn trails, Liperi's Kinttupolut, and Kontiolahti's Kontionpolut trail network. From Kontiolahti's trails, you can continue along Kolinpolku all the way to Koli.

The route's starting point is marked at the Utra Islands parking lot, but you can also start from the Lehmo sports field parking lot.

The route starts and ends at the parking lot of the Utra Islands. The first and last couple of kilometers are traveled along the orange-marked Jaama Trail, which is somewhat fragmented in the urban area.

After that, you continue on the Harjupolut trail network, which has good signs in the terrain. Along the route, there are several guide colors that this route tip follows. To facilitate smooth following of the route, it is advisable to download a gpx file to your navigation device or print the attached Harjupolut route map.
