Siikakoski small loops in Ruunaa
Experience a versatile and refreshing day trip along the shores of Lieksankoski and in the colorful atmosphere of the mires!
Description
The small loops at Siikakoski offer a great opportunity to explore the diverse nature of Ruunaa. The trip starts from Siikakoski along a leafy and mysterious path. Approaching the rapids, the sound of water begins to calm the traveler's mind and the gaze follows the movement of the water. The hiking route follows the shore of the Lieksa river. On the Siikakoski bridge you can stop to admire the river view, and you can also take a detour across the river on the bridge. The route often passes by fishermen, and occasionally rafting boats and kayaks pass by.
The route continues to dry pine forest hills and colorful open mires with sections of boardwalks. Along the route, there are several well-maintained resting spots, so even the youngest family members can comfortably walk the stage by stage. There are some elevation changes and short rocky and rooty sections, but overall the route is easy.
The route is marked with yellow paint marks.
