Self-paddling trip on Herajärvi

From Kiviniemi farm it is possible to go on a self-drive trip to Herajärvi. Herajärvi is a clear-water, narrow and long lake, which is ideal for paddling, fishing and enjoying nature. Herajärvi is a really great place to paddle. Often a rugged and clear-water beautiful lake between dunes, it allows you to paddle even in stronger winds and has its own special atmosphere to experience.

Description

You can get to the sauna at the Kiviniemi farm. It is advisable to book your sauna in advance. There is also a picnic sauna, which everyone can heat up themselves. You can order picnic food from the Kiviniemi farm and stay in authentic, atmospheric huts and reefs. You can pitch a tent on the tent pitches and stay overnight in a caravan or camper van on the caravan pitches.

Lakkala rented cabin (2 h, kitchen-living room, smoke sauna) is located in the southern part of Koli National Park on the shore of Herajärvi, along the Herajärvi loop. The landscape is idyllic. Sheep pastures and old fields surround the traditional buildings of the farmstead. Lakkala is a summer pastoral resort and is therefore only available for booking in May and September. The cottage is electrically heated and well equipped. The cabin is 50 m from the adjacent camping area. The rental cabin is a place to stay overnight and is rented entirely for your own use.

Safety

Do not go kayaking alone or without telling anyone.

If you fall over, the first place to go for rescue is to a canoe/kayak or the nearest shore. Then change into dry clothes so you don't catch cold. If the situation is serious, call 112.
