Salokylä ski track, Rääkkylä

The Salokylä ski track is maintained by the residents of Salokylä, and updates can be found on the association's Facebook page. The track starts next to the Salokylä nearby outdoor exercise area (Tainiontie 10). It is groomed about 40 meters behind the waste shelter of the exercise area, in a pine sapling forest. Follow the ski tracks from the corner of the shelter. The track winds through varied forest and rural landscapes. The traditional track maintained with a snowmobile on the forest floor is managed according to snow conditions. The track features gentle elevation changes and is suitable for skiers of all ages. After a little over one kilometer, the track splits right towards Mensunlampi Pond. The ice track around Mensunlampi (approx. 3 km loop) starts from the beach and circles the pond when ice conditions permit. The track is also accessible from the Mensunlampi beach parking lot. The return from the ice track follows the same route and continues as a loop back to the starting point. The track mostly passes through forest but detours across fields and berry plantations. The track has two road crossings.
