Saimaa by Cycle: Viinijärvi circuit 25 km

The Viinijärvi circuit takes the cyclist to the idyllic landscapes of Liperi, where field landscapes and old buildings create a rural romantic atmosphere. The route mainly runs on flat gravel roads, interspersed with a 5 km stretch of asphalt. Highlights include the Siikakoski mill café, the charming old stone bridge, and the orthodox church, which make the journey diverse and memorable. Near Siikakoski is the Kompero local heritage museum, which is variably open in the summer. You can also take a break at the Bakery-Café Pulla Pulju or the S-market near Viinijärvi. The flowing Taipaleenjoki River and sheep grazing in the pastures along the way complete the experience. The route is well suited for cyclists with normal fitness and also offers a small touch of local history thanks to the Viinijärvi baseball stadium.
