Rapids Tour, Ruunaa snowmobile route 30 km
The Ruunaa Rapids Tour takes the snowmobiler to wilderness landscapes in Eastern Finland. The route, which runs through the Ruunaa hiking area known for its rapids, offers diverse scenery from pine forests to mires and lake ice. A lucky traveler might also see the inhabitants of the forest; at least wolverine tracks are common in this area.
Description
The Ruunaa Rapids Tour is a 31-kilometer multi-purpose route in the Ruunaa hiking area and its surroundings. In winter, the route is also used by snowmobilers. The starting point of the route is in the yard of Ruunaan Travel, and it is a loop route returning to the same place. The route is connected to snowmobile routes leading to Lieksa as well as to the north and south, so it can also be combined with longer trips.
