Pankasaari rotation
The "continuation" of the Jongun River canoeing route, around Pankasaari. Most of the paddling is on a calm river and lake paddling, passing the Reposuo-Kalliolahdensuo nature reserve. About 5 km is upstream, then downstream again on a calm river, a couple of small rapids/streams and a small lake. Parts of the route include bear trail rest stops along the way. Rental equipment available.
Description
A longer kayaking trip, typically one trip of at least one night. Starting from the water launching point in Nurmijärvi or from the canoe/kayak rental beach. Mainly lake/river paddling, with a few small rapids upstream and a couple of small streams/coves downstream. Quiet enjoyment mostly, if paddling after mid-summer.
Safety
Poor phone reception in places on the east side of the bank.

Author tips:
Along the route there are nice rest stops. Lake Pankajärvi is partly bordered by the Reposuo Nature Reserve, and the hike offers the possibility to stop outside the reserve and explore the area on foot. The area is rich in birdlife, including a bird tower.
