Description

The Pahakala Trail is the easiest route in Liperin Kinttupolut, varying along pine forest needle paths, ridges, terrain tracks, and gravel roads. The route has a few hills and some steeper sections. Along the way, there are two shelters. The Vaaralampi shelter is located on the shore of a small kettle pond in the middle of a spruce forest. The Huttulampi shelter is right next to the Kaprakka starting point and is excellent also for families with children. Additionally, next to the Kaprakka starting point, there is a swimming hall where you can sauna, swim, and wash according to opening hours!

Near the Pahakala Trail is the Kuoringa beach, which has a long stretch of sandy beach, a kiosk, and equipment rental (sup boards). The beach can be reached from the Pahakala Trail by following Honkatuvantie underpass beneath Kuopiontie to the south side of the highway, from where it is about a kilometer walk to the beach via a pedestrian path. A great spot on a warm summer day for swimming and refreshments!
