Olkikoski ring route
A scenic cycle route in varied terrain, with ridges, bogs and ponds along the way, crossing and passing close to a bear trail in places. Break and swimming areas along/near the route. On the way, you can learn about the military history of the Rukajärventie, e.g. at Änäkai and other signposts along the Kivivaarantie.
Description
At the starting point there is parking, a shelter and a dry toilet. Cycle route in varied terrain, with ridges, bogs and ponds along the route, which crosses and partly runs close to the Bear Trail. There are rest and swimming areas along/near the route, including rest stops on the Bear Trail. On the way, you can learn about the military history of the Rukajärventie, e.g. at Änäkänen and other signposts along the stone road. The route can be combined with other cycle routes in the area, or why not with other activities such as hiking or canoeing. There is parking at the starting point and services such as accommodation and equipment hire are available at the start of the route.
Safety
An isolated route. The phone may not work everywhere and the road conditions vary. A paper or preloaded map is a good idea.

Directions
The route runs clockwise along Kivivaarantie past Änäkäinen to the junction with Viitajärventie and continues to the junction with Olkikoskentie. Follow Olkikoskentie to the junction with Puuruuntien, which joins Kivivaarantie. The Kivivaarantie leads back to the starting point.
