Neitijärvi circuit by the beautiful waterways of Ruunaa

A 22 km long path around Neitijärvi in the midst of old primeval forests and beautiful lake and river scenery. A highlight of the route is the view from the Huuhkajanvaara observation tower.

Description

The Neitijärvi circuit begins along riverbanks. Along the route, you can admire old primeval forest and huge ant hills. At the Haapavitja suspension bridge a beautiful rapid landscape opens up. There is a steep climb to the Huuhkajanvaara observation tower along the route, but the view from the tower is worth the climb. The crossing of the water at Airovirta by boat adds a special feature to the hike. Instructions for the crossing can be found in the route description.

The route partly follows sections of the Koskikierros and Karhunpolku routes through varying terrain. Along the entire trip, there are well-maintained resting places at suitable intervals.
