Multi-use route in front of the Koli fells, 2,5-13 km
Easy multi-use routes on the ice of Pielinen from Koli harbour to the shore of Koli ski slopes and forward, length 2,5-13 km. The route runs next to the cross country skiing track, on the shoreline side.
Description
The route starts from Nikkilänkuja parking lot at the parking lot towards the ice of Pielinen, and the first few hundred meters it runs on a ski track along the road. After the cottages of Koli Aamuranta, the route descends onto the frozen lake, where the ski track diverges from the xc-skiing track route.
The route runs on the ice of Pielinen and curves far enough from the shore for the fells of Koli to be nicely visible to the outdoor enthusiast. The route runs to the shore at the base station of the Koli ski slopes, from where you can continue on a loop towards the islands, or return the same way.
