Lykynvaara Trail, Lykynpolut

The Lykynvaara Trail is the most versatile and impressive route of the Lykynpolut trails. The 4 km distance includes steep hills, leafy atmosphere, and also heathland terrain.

Description

The 4 km Lykynvaara Trail marked in red is the most versatile and impressive of the area's routes. Looking from Lykynvaara towards the Höytiäinen canal, you can glimpse hill-like views.

Whether you ride the route clockwise or counterclockwise, the beginning is gentle heathland before the steep climbs and descents and views in the middle section of the route. The section passing along the shore of Lykynlampi adds its own flavor with lush and leafy nature.

The Lykynlampi outdoor center is located around the small Lykynlampi. The Lykynlampi trails include four marked routes, one of which is accessible. The Lykynpolut of Lykynlampi offer trail experiences for mountain bikers of all levels.

Jaama Trail and the connector route departing from Lykynlampi outdoor lodge connect the Lykynpolut to a network of over 200 km of marked routes crisscrossing the Joensuu region: Utranharju's Harjunpolut, Liperin Kinttupolut, and Kontiolahti's Kontionpolut trail network. From the Kontiolahti routes, one can continue along the Kolinpolku all the way to Koli.
