Lehmijoki Nature Trail
Lehmijoki Nature Trail is a quiet 3.2 km one-way route along a ridge, offering beautiful views of Viitasuo.
Description
You can start on the trail marked in blue either from Kangaskoski (east) or from the Kalliovaara side from the west. From Kalliovaarantie, turn onto the forest road where the trail begins.
The nature trail passes through beautiful forest terrain, following Teeriharju and Lehmijoki ridge. Wide views open up to Viitasuo, with Koitajoki occasionally visible in the background. There is a bridge and duckboards at the Lehmijoki crossing. The trail passes near a small Lehmilampi pond, where a pair of swans sometimes live. There are excellent berry picking areas along the trail.
At the Kangaskoski end, by the Koitajoki river, there is a shelter serving hikers.
Safety

- Be careful - do not leave fire unattended. The last to leave, make sure the fire is out.
- Open fires are prohibited during forest or grass fire warnings and in strong winds.

From Kalliovaarantie 30 (Ilomantsi), go about 2.2 km east on the forest road to the starting point.
Parking at the end of the forest road.
