Kitee wilderness and game trail

On Kiteen wilderness and game trail, you get a true connection to Finnish nature and its diversity. Rich vegetation and varied wildlife are present year-round, and these ridge landscapes are enjoyable for hikers. The wilderness and game trail consists of two separate nature trails, Parppeinlampi nature trail and Hietaniemi wilderness trail. The nature trails introduce travelers to the area's nature and wildlife.

From the information boards along the route, you can read about how the area has formed over time and about forestry and game management as well as maintained wilderness traditions in the area. Along the trail, you can find many interesting sights, such as wooden carved animal figures, traps, game fields, feeding places, and moose towers. Both nature trails are easy to walk, although there are some ascents and descents along the way.

From Highway 6, turn at the Tolosenmäki junction onto the road leading to Rääkkylä (482). Drive 3.1 km until the sign points left to the Kiteen wilderness and game trail (Anttilantie). Drive about 400 metres and turn left according to the wilderness trail sign. Drive to the end of the road to reach the parking area.

You can park your car either at the Kiteen wilderness and nature trail parking area or you can park on a small lay-by next to the main gate.
