Jyri Trail, Liperi Kinttupolut
Jyri Trail runs in a semi-urban terrain around Jyrinkylä along pleasant needle paths. The shore paths of four clear-water lakes charm the walker.
Description
Jyri Trail runs in a semi-urban terrain around Jyrinkylä along pleasant needle paths and forest roads. The route has four clear-water lakes where you can observe the sandy bottoms and fish in several places.
One of the most beautiful places on Jyri Trail and the entire Liperi Kinttupolut is the footbridge over Nuottilampi, where you can stay and admire the calming atmosphere of the nature reserve.
Along the route marked with yellow painted dots and signs, there are four lean-tos or huts where you can have a snack break during your ride. Fireplaces have shelter, ready dry wood, a table, and an outhouse.
Jyrinkylä still breathes war history. Paloaukea, located in the middle of the route, is widely known in Finland as the starting place of the events in Väinö Linna's The Unknown Soldier. Today the site has a school and next to it a Defense Forces storage area built on the site of an old garrison.
The route has several road crossings, some of which are busier. Please cross carefully!
