Juuka local heritage trail
The Juuka local heritage trail presents the history of Juuka village and culturally significant buildings through nine information boards and QR codes. The Juuka Society implemented the Local Heritage Trail project in 2022 in cooperation with the Juuka municipality and the Juuka parish. The project was funded by Vaara-Karjala Leader.
Description
The local heritage trail starts at Juuka's ABC and passes through the Parish Museum, church, Wooden Juuka, and the Mill Museum to the cemetery. You can see the route and the locations of the information boards on the accompanying map. Behind the QR codes on the boards along the route, additional information about the topics and sites is available.
The route introduces the following sites:
1. Brief history of Juuka municipality and what Juuka is known for

4. War cemetery and memorials
5. Wooden Juuka
6. Wooden Juuka: Town hall and schools
7. Wooden Juuka: Clubhouse and pharmacy
