Description
The Haapasalmi classic style track is groomed with a snowmobile. The start and small parking area are on top of the hill (Haapasalmentie 1051, Rääkkylä. Drive to the end of the road). The parking lot also serves as the starting point for Haapasalmi's classic and skate style tracks. You can access the snowmobile track by leaving the parking lot heading west and going downhill. At the foot of the hill, the track branches off to the snowmobile track. The track loops around the field area of Lakiasuo. From the northern edge of the field area, a connecting track branches to Haapasalmi's classic and skate style tracks. From the southern edge of the field area, a track branches to Pantiinniemi and to Haapasalmi village hall (Address Pantii 56, Rääkkylä), from where you can also start skiing. The village hall to Lakiasuo distance is about 600m. The track is maintained according to snow conditions.
Safety
- Crossing Haapasalmentie when going to Haapasalmi village hall.
- If you start from the parking lot on top of the hill (Haapasalmentie 1051), the start involves a long descent into a dead-end. Beware of the end of the track when the conditions are slippery.
