Koli 25
Description
After this, the trail turns onto gravel roads that open up to a vast landscape of pastures and hills. Horses grazing in the fields and the rustic atmosphere of Paimentuva transport you to the heart of the national park.
As you continue on your journey, Lake Pielinen comes into view, offering magnificent vistas stretching high and far. Right by the shore, you can hear the sound of the water. Along the route, you’ll also find the Koli Harbor Restaurant, where you can take a well-deserved break.
Once the shoreline of Lake Pielinen is behind you, the final stretch offers idyllic fields and rural scenery before the final ascent to Räsävaara and the descent back to the village of Koli.
The Koli 25 route runs mostly along a gravel road in good condition, with a total of about 2–2.5 kilometers of paved sections. The steepest climb on the route begins around the 19-kilometer mark, and the steepest section of the hill is about 12%. The last kilometer is downhill, so you can enjoy the speed and the scenery as you return to the village of Koli.

Parking is free. If the church parking lot is full, we recommend the large Metsähallitus parking lot located along Rantatie at Rantatie 6.
