Ketunlenkki – A Charmingly Colourful Trail in Reposuo Mire

Ketunlenkki is a varied, colourful hiking trail in protected swamp nature near Lieksa.

Description

The diversity of North Karelia's bog nature is a delight for hikers in Reposuo and Kalliolahti. Every day you can experience new colours, sounds and smells. The landscapes vary from open bogs to ridges, coastal landscapes and wetlands of high birdlife value. The Ketunlenkki trail circles and partly crosses the bog area, so the day trip offers opportunities for birdwatching, exploring the varied bog nature and berry picking. In winter, the Ketunlenkki is an excellent destination for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Ketunlenkki is about 12 km long, with three maintained rest stops along the way, and is an excellent place for nature observation without disturbing nature from the Ulkkajoki nature tower and viewing platform, as well as along the Ketunlenk. The viewing platform is also partly suitable for people with reduced mobility.

A great 2 km hike with children starts at the nature tower, balancing along the long trees over the magnificent swamp and before the Kaiskunniemi rest stop, you should say hello to the rocky outcrop, where you can take the sweetest photos of the hike. You return along the same route.

Please note that the longitudinal trees are in poor condition in places.
