The municipal library of Juuka is
designed by architect company called Kaj Michael Oy and it was
completed in July 1993. The building has received a nickname "Rihveli"
because of its soapstone pillars in front of the main entrance:
they look like giant stone pens. In addition, in the ceiling of the
library, there's an artwork called "the Elli of Juuka", made by students
of art university: the artwork that hangs in the ceiling reflects a
has 42 000 books in its collections. In addition, there is a separate
room for people who want to read newspapers and magazines (for children,
youth and adults). In our collections, there's also sports- and game
instruments that you can borrow, too.
