Karelia Congresses as a product was developed at the University of Joensuu in 1996, after a disquisition about the need of professional congress organizer. The first eight years it functioned at the university as congress services, which were available for the university and outside organizations as well.

Through these projects the congress service developed to become a high-quality product, which provides professional skills of congress organizing and ensures the success of events and satisfied clients. This is how the project work reached its goal to supply permanent service to congress organisers in the Finnish Karelia.


In 2004 Karelia Congresses became a permanent part of Karelia Expert Tourist Service Ltd. Working in Karelia Expert Ltd gives us a great opportunity to offer our clients tourist services, social programs and excursions in addition to congress services.

Congress Services have organized over 70 events with more than 13.000 participants. Of these events more than 20 were international conferences with over 3000 international delegates during the last ten years.
